Electrical Systems
Utah Electrical Systems costs. This includes full residential wiring: outlets, switches, lights, panels, breakers, and everything behind the walls that powers your home.
What’s Included
Includes rough-in and finish wiring for all standard circuits, panels, subpanels, breakers, outlets, switches, and light boxes. Also includes GFCI and AFCI protection as required by code. Does not include fixtures or low-voltage wiring unless specified. Pricing varies based on home size, breaker count, and options like car chargers, solar prep, or whole-home surge protection.
Notes:
Includes panel, wiring, rough-in, trim-out, labor, coderequired outlets & switches
Builder Tips:
Ask for per-outlet pricing on extras (e.g., basement finish, outdoor plugs). Many Utah builders now request EV charger rough-ins — include this early. For larger homes, dual panels or subpanels help with layout and future expansion. Clarify if trim-out includes plate covers, LED disc lights, and code-required smoke/CO devices.
Real World Example:
A 4,200 sq ft home in Utah County with 2 panels, 3 outdoor circuits, and basement finish:
Mid-tier electrical labor & materials: $6.00–$7.00/sq ft
Total cost: 4,200 × $6.50 = $27,300
Includes panel, breakers, all standard wiring, and trim-out
FAQ
Q: Does this include light fixtures?
A: No — fixture install is included, but the fixtures themselves are owner-supplied or part of a lighting allowance.
Q: Can I add extra circuits later?
A: Yes, but it’s far cheaper to add them during rough-in than after drywall.
Q: What about low-voltage wiring?
A: Some electricians include it, but it’s often handled by a separate AV/security contractor.
Q: Do I need a subpanel for a basement?
A: Not required, but often helpful for wiring access and future remodels.
