Framing Labor
Utah Framing Labor prices. This is the structural skeleton of your home. Skilled crews frame walls, roofs, floors, and decks using your lumber package.
What’s Included
Framing labor includes layout, cutting, and assembly of all structural framing components: floor systems, walls, trusses, roof decks, and shear panels.
It assumes a standard stick-frame home using a lumber package supplied by others.
Pricing is typically per sq ft of framed area.
Notes
Does not include lumber, structural steel, or material delivery.
Builder Tips:
Use separate bids for labor and materials — combined bids often carry hidden markup. Ensure bid covers blocking, hardware install, temporary stairs, and wrap/sheathing if needed. Some framers exclude garage or deck framing unless specified. Request bid adjustments if roof complexity or wall height is above standard.
Real World Example:
A 4,200 sq ft 2-story home with trusses and moderate complexity roof:
Main + upper floor area: 4,200 sq ft
Mid-tier framing rate: $12.25/sq ft
Total framing labor: 4,200 × $12.25 = $51,450
